Condensation is easily the most common form of dampness and is usually the consequence of inadequate ventilation throughout the home. It is mostly noticeable on cold walls, cold floors and windows. A telling sign of moderate to acute condensation would be the appearance of a dark colored mould. The condition can also be found in floor voids and loft areas (a white mould), where, if left untreated, dampness can result in wet rot or dry rot. This occurrence is best avoided in both instances from a health and from a cost perspective.

There’s a lot of signals to indicate condensation presence over and above tolerable levels, black mould to window frames being the easiest for the typical homeowner to spot.
